From Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat prayer services Lekhah dodi likrat kallah, p’nei Shabbat n’kabbelah! (x2) Shamor v’zakhor b’dibbur echad, Hishmi’anu Eil ha-m’yuchad. Adonai echad u-sh’mo echad; L’shem ul’tiferet v’lit’hilah. Lekhah dodi likrat kallah, p’nei Shabbat n’kabbelah! (x2) Likrat Shabbat l’khu v’nelkhah, Ki hi m’kor ha-b’rakhah. Me-rosh mi-kedem n’sukhah; Sof ma’aseh b’mach’shavah t’chilah. Lekhah dodi likrat kallah, p’nei Shabbat n’kabbelah! (x2) Translation: Come, my Beloved, to greet the bride, let us welcome the presence of Shabbat! “Observe” and “remember” in a single utterance The one unified God caused us to hear. The Eternal is One and Their name is One For renown, for glory, and for praise. Come, let us go forth to greet Shabbat For she is the source of blessing. From the very beginning, before time, she was honored: Last to be created but first in the imagination of the Creator. Translation edited and adapted by Louis Polisson and Gabriella Feingold from Learn Hebrew Pod

I belong to the rain I belong to the flood It washes me clean Of all I have been and will become Take me here Take me whole Take me heart, body, and soul And return me once again I belong to the rain. I belong to the moon I belong to the tide It pulls from my depths The secrets I’ve swept away From pride Take me here... ...I belong to the moon. I belong to the air I belong to the trees They give my roots Anchor me to truth And set me free Take me here... ...I belong to the air. I belong to the earth I belong to the soil Laboring hard The work brings me tears and Brings me joy Take me here... ...I belong to the earth. I belong to the rain I belong to the flood It washes me clean Of all I have been and will become Take me here... ...I belong to the rain.

Worth 02:35
(Chorus) I declare my own worth I will yell I will cry Till you hear when I say I am here - all of me - Here to stay. Flags raised up, bridges burned Full of song, marching on As time goes by they will learn A new day has come and it’s our turn. (Chorus) Oh our story will be told How we came, how we stood Stood our ground, claimed this fight Took hold of what was wrong and made it right And hand in hand sang into the night (Chorus x2) I am here - all of me - here to stay. (x2)

Slow down, love. It’s alright, love. Let it all wait for another day. You’ve got time, love. Give it time, love. Let your bones hold you together. You’re an ocean Time is waves. Another will be passing through. You can sit here Until tomorrow Let all the fixing wait for you. Give yourself time. Give yourself room. Let things be messy. Let life be true. One step at a time One foot then another This breath, then another Then another. Slow down, love. It’s alright, love. Let it all wait for another day.

Lead Me Home 04:48
(Chorus) Hold my hand, my friend Walk with me through the cold I’m stepping out again Into the wilderness I hope you will lead me home Ooh I know you will lead me home. I’m facing unknown I’m stepping in I’m seeking the bravery Under my skin I might fall down I might cave in Calling the bravery That sleeps within (Chorus) Though I am scared Though I am tired You give me the strength to try To dance in the fire Hand to heart Heart in hand You help me believe I will You show me I can Ooh ooh ooh (Chorus) Though I am scared Though I am tired You give me the strength to try To dance in the fire Hand to heart Heart in hand You help me believe I will You show me I can Ooh ooh ooh (Chorus)

For Yah Eternal is my strength and my might, and has become my deliverance. With joy shall you draw water from the wells of deliverance. Deliverance is; may Your blessing be upon Your people. The Eternal of all forces is with us; the God of Jacob is a fortress for us. Eternal One of all forces, fortunate is the one who trusts in You. Eternal One, save us; may the Sovereign answer us when we call. For the Jews there was light and happiness, joy and honor; so may it be for us. I will raise the cup of deliverance and call upon the name of the Divine. Translation edited and adapted by Louis Polisson from B’nai Jeshurun of New York City and from the L’chu N’ran’nah - Let Us Sing bencher edited by Barry Dov Walfish, Ben Dreyfus, Mark Frydenburg, and Aviva Richman.

about

Louis & Gabriella are a married duo who compose original Jewish and spiritual folk music. Gabriella feels most spiritually connected in contemplating nature and in considering the needs and emotions that make up the universal human experience. She approaches singing as a practice of embodying and reflecting on those themes. Louis is deeply inspired by traditional modes of Jewish liturgy and uses music to connect to his religious and cultural heritage, bringing the past into meaningful engagement with the present moment through reinterpretation and renewal. Together, they bring you As Full of Song as the Sea, hoping to provide new and wider avenues for Jewish and spiritual experience.

Made possible by Hadar (hadar.org)

Rabbi Louis Polisson serves as Rabbi of Congregation Or Atid of Wayland, MA; he received his rabbinic ordination and M.A. in Jewish Thought from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in May 2018.
Louis composes and performs music of all kinds, from hardcore punk to klezmer. He has worked as a songleader and Jewish music teacher across the Northeast and has studied klezmer and world Jewish music with Cantor George Mordecai, Alicia Svigals, Rabbi Greg Wall, Aaron Alexander, Joey Weisenberg, and David Chevan. He is an alum of Yeshivat Hadar’s Summer Beit Midrash, and earned a B.A. in Classical Studies from Brandeis University with minors in Music and Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. While at Brandeis, he served as Musical Director of the co-ed Jewish a cappella group, Manginah, where he met his wife, Gabriella.

Gabriella Feingold is a certified life coach, helping people who spend most of their time and energy on others to take better care of themselves (gabriellafeingold.com). She empowers them to release the dynamics of overwhelm, over-commitment, and guilt and to take tangible steps toward a more sustainable and intentional lifestyle. Gabriella studied Theatre for Social Change at Brandeis University and also served as Musical Director for Manginah (“melody” in Hebrew). Gabriella grew up in a musical family, with a tradition of releasing family albums for each of her and her siblings’ Benei Mitzvah. She is grateful to carry on that tradition of family records with As Full of Song as the Sea, as she and Louis continue to use their love of music to connect to each other and to something greater than themselves.
